How are you? I am the president of Kofpi.

As president of the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute, I vow to do my very best in cooperation with the executives and staff of Kofpi to fulfill its original mission and to allow more people to benefit from the nation’s beautiful forests.

I will expand opportunities for education on forestry and mountain villages for people who dream of settling in mountain villages and entering the forestry industry. I will also see to it that clean and pure forestry products become high value-added goods by developing a national integrated brand for forestry products.

I will reinforce the foundation of the timber industry by promoting the use of wood—which stores carbon—and unused forest biomass and propel the growth of the forestry industry by supporting the practical application of R&D projects in the forestry sector.

By utilizing Industry 4.0 technology, I will also focus on establishing a management system for sustainable forests, including the spread of smart forestry, in line with the government's Digital New Deal and Green New Deal, and increase the value of forests.

With local governments serving as the vital cog, I will establish the groundwork for local-based circular forest management in collaboration with businesses and forestry professionals and create more quality jobs by revitalizing the social economy using forest resources.

Moreover, I will make concerted efforts to ensure that Kofpi does not figure in any industrial accidents and safety mishaps. Finally, I will foster a customer-centered organizational culture, reinvent public services by pursuing seamless communication with the public, and increase the social values of forestry, guided by the belief that the growth of forestry can contribute greatly to the happiness of the general public.
