business departments.
The Forest Policy & Job Creation Headquarters handles the following:
dissemination and spread of forestry research achievements,
support for start-ups through revitalization of forestry technology trade,
job creation including fostering the social economy,
support for mountain villages, including fostering mountain village-based zones,
operation of KFCC(Forest certification) and forest carbon offset scheme,
revitalization of forest management through certification of forest carbon absorption.
The Forest Information & Statistics Services Headquarters handles
the following : analysis of information on forestry economy,
including production and distribution of forestry products,
information on forest resources, information on forest land soil,
and establishment, management, utilization of other related,
applicable information.
The Pine Wilt Disease Monitoring Headquarters
(abbreviated as the "Disease and Pest HQ”) handles
the following : monitoring and statistical management
of the pine wilt disease, analysis and forecast of the outbreaks
of pine wilt disease, monitoring the quality of preventive
materials, preliminary observation,
education on disease prevention and public relations.
The Forestry Education & Income Support Headquarters handles the following :
support for forestry professionals, including fostering forestry businesses,
support for the development and distribution of clean forest food support
for education programs for people returning to mountain villages and those
in the forestry fields, management of seeds of specially managed forestry
products(wild-simulated ginseng), and inspection, testing and analysis of
forest food and specially managed forest food(wild-simulated ginseng).
The Wood Industry & Global Headquarters handles the following :
quality certification, safety assessment, designation of new technologies,
support for wood companies, inspection of standards
and quality of wood and wood products, works related to testing,
analysis, assessment and evaluation, acquisition of overseas forest
resources, establishment of international cooperation network,
ODA(Official Development Assistance), and promotion
of international cooperation and collaboration projects.
